Happy Birthday Husband!

Hi Friends,

Today I have a special post to share with all of you. It's my husband's birthday and I have designed a card to commemorate his 50th Birthday. Lets take a look....

For this card I have used all Crafter's Companion Products including the following items:

Sara Signature Vintage Lace 12x12" Paper Pad
Sara Signature A4 Luxury Linen Card
Sara Signature A4 Luxury Pearl Card
Silver Foil Luxury Card
Gemini Cut & Emboss Folder Vichy Frame
Pebeo Gilding Wax in Silver
"Happy Birthday" Die from the Victorian Collection.
Die'sire 1" Numbers & Punctuation Dies Set
Crafter's Companion Special Someone Sentiment Set (for the inside)

Randy's favorite color is purple and I was really wanting to design with the Victorian Lace collection so this is what came from that. It killed me not to embellish with flowers and ribbon but I was trying to keep it more masculine if at all possible. (I know what your thinking...."This is far from masculine") I know I know but I tried!

As you can see with this close up photo, after embossing the Cut & Emboss Folder Vichy Frame, I cut 3 frames and glued them together to give depth and dimension. I then added some silver Gilding Wax to give the embossing a metal look. (my attempt at masculine ~ LOL)

For the inside here I have used two separate stamps from the Special Someone Stamp Set. I have called Randy "husband" since out wedding night and it is something I still do today. I will of course add a personal message at the bottom before I put it in it's envelope.

Randy, I hope you know how much I love you. Happy Birthday Baby! God has brought us together and strengthens out marriage each and ever day. I am proud to call you HUSBAND!

Love Always, Wife

Crafter's Companion Craft Along

Hi Friends,

I have been really sick over the past few weeks, but just had to get back into the craft room so when I saw that Crafter's Companion had posted a little "playing along" I decided to give it a try. The idea is to get our minds off of the current Global Pandemic and to refocus on what we love.... crafting. So for this #CCplayalong Crafter's Companion showed the following photo and asked us to create something from as many of these items that we own. I had all but one of them which I substituted for a similar CC product.

So here it is..... My card featuring all of the above products minus the cut & emboss folder. Instead I stayed true to the Vintage Lace Collection and used the cut & emboss folder that came with that.

 This is a 5 x 7" sized card and I have used the following Crafter's Companion's Supplies:

- Vintage Lace Cut and Emboss Folder
- Stitch Edge Oval Nesting Dies
- Spectrum Noir Midas Metallic Pigment Inkpad - Rose Satin
- Peony Foam Flower Die
- Luxury Precious Metals Card Stock
- Vintage Lace Paper Pad
- Vintage Lace Flower Forming Foam
- Vintage Lace Vintage Vines Die Set
- Vintage Lace Botanicals Die Set
Kaleidoscope of Butterflies Die set
- Vintage Lace Heartfelt Sentiments
- Vintage Lace Stamen
- Crafter's Companion 5 x 7" Card Blank

Extras:
- Clear Embossing Powder
- Silver Pearls

Here is a close up of the handmade flowers I have created.

I really had fun with this project. My thanks goes out the to the Crafting community. As for today's uncertainty please be proactive and keep yourself busy at home and follow the local and global recommendations for practicing social distance. If your in an area of the world that limits your outings do your best to stay safe and stay home unless absolutely necessary.  At least we can lean on our craft to stay busy. Now back to bed for me. This took me two evenings to make as I am still trying to recover from an upper respiratory infection. Prayers for everyone! Melanie

P.S. One last look ;-)

LDRS Creative ~ Barnyard

Hi Friends,

Today I am bringing you a fun Barnyard scene. I love creating scene cards. This LDRS Stamp and Die set creates endless possibilities.

This scene began with the Farmer's Market 6x6" paper pack. I loved the rolling hills but I wanted to have the feel of a sky so I used the checked paper to create the feel of there being a sky. Adding the Clouds from the Barnyard stamp set pulled it all together.

Here is a closer picture of the bard. If you look closely you will see that the die cuts out all of the doors and windows. It even cuts little holes out on the windows. So that I would not see the background behind the open doors and windows I simply added back paper behind all the openings. You could even add characters inside the windows and doors.

LDRS Products Used:

Barnyard Stamp Set
Barnyard Die Set
Farmer's Market 6x6" paper
Country Fence die, Pocket size

LDRS Creative ~ Crazy For Daisies

Welcome back friends,

Today I have a fun coloring project to share. As soon as I spotted this NEW LDRS Creative's set, Crazy For Daisies, I immediately wanted to color it. For my project I have just used the large focal stamp but this set offers even more. See below for details.

To design this card my focus is always color first. I look at the coloring in the paper and decide on marker colors. For this project I have used Spectrum Noir Classique Markers. They were a joy to work with.

LDRS Creative Products Used:

The Crazy For Daisies Stamp set also has an amazing coordinating die set. Make sure to check that out.

Here is a close up of my coloring. I have used the New Spectrum Noir Classique Alcohol markers on this project.

Some Odd Girl ~ Snow Fun Tia

Hi Friends!

I hope this post is finding you warm and toasty during these winter months. I am about to have my second surgery of this winter but luckily SOG allowed me to just do 1 card for November and one in December which really helped me a lot.

I have colored up "Snow Fun Tia" today for my project and I had so much fun creating this card for all of you.

This card just sparkles. I have used lots of glitter card stock to create a snowflake background perfect for Snow Fun Tia!!! Isn't she beautiful? She seems so joyous to me. It reminds me of when I was a little girl wanting to play in the snow.

Above is a close up of my coloring. I have used Copic alcohol markers. Before coloring this I had not looked at the image in the advertising of this digital stamp. It was also colored in the same color scheme. Such a funny coincidence.

You guys are going to want to run over to the Some Odd Girl website to purchase this little Tia stamp. It is so fun for your winter cards.... Here is one last look... Have a wonderful winter everyone! Melanie

As you can see I created a scene using some dies from my stash. They are from C.C. Designs. I have. colored this adorable stamp using Copic alcohol markers. I then added some glitter pen to her crown as well as some colored pearls just to add a touch of royalty! Here is a close up photo...
